It took a year and a half but I achieved my goal weight.

Now, I guess I get to maintain.

I’m debating knocking another few pounds off my goal weight, but where would it end. Would I really look that much better at 135 over 140? I think I’ve looked pretty good the last 20 pounds.

I’m in such a better place than I was 18 months ago. I feel great, I’m in fantastic shape. I can run a mile in 8 minutes flat and that rules. I never want to stop working out. I love my toned arms and back and I’m the only one in my family with legs worth showing off. For the first time in my life I can wear a miniskirt and feel really good about it.  I’ve got a really great bright orange minidress.

Physically, mentally, I’m just in a better place all around. I’ve got a great boyfriend and I didn’t have him when I started. He’s been around the last 25 pounds and he’ll be sticking around for a long time.

I hope everyone else can achieve their goals and be in a great place in their lives too.

L

I’m one pound away from my goal.

ONE POUND.

That kind of rules.

I’ve actually adjusted my ultimate goal. Instead of 140, I now want to be 135.

But I think that will be it, really. I don’t want to be too skinny, but I think 135 is my happy number.

The BMI for me says I should be up to 141 to be considered “healthy,” so I think If I can get to 135 and float between that and 140, I’ll be maintaining, and I’ll be happy. And I want to lose the last 6 pounds without counting calories. I don’t want to keep doing this for the rest of my life. If I can learn to maintain without counting everything, like I’ve done for the last year, I’ll be golden.

Eating well and working out. That’s my new plan.

It’s been a long ride. I’ve lost 66 pounds. That’s amazing.

I really hope each and every one of you has a similar kind of success.

L

I’m so close!

My goal for December was to get to 145 lb and after yesterday’s weigh in, I’m there!

I’m stoked, for sure!

I am now only 5 lb away from the goal I set almost ONE YEAR ago! I’m certain I can achieve that by my birthday (Jan 8!)

Wow. I’ve lost 62 lb in 11 months. This is huge.

I’ve gone from an XL shirt to a M. I’ve gone from a size 18 pants to an 8.

I look DAMN good in skinny jeans.

I’ve got myself a loving boyfriend who RULES. He’s probably the healthiest relationship I’ve ever had and he’s a big fan of me.

I can run a mile in 9 minutes whereas before the treadmill terrified me. I ran a 5k in July and took first in my category.

And the best part is that I did all of it without having to outright give up the things I love.
If I had to stop going out with friends for dinner or drinks I would have never succeeded. I chose a vodka tonic over a Guinness, that’s all. I chose three chicken tacos over the chimichanga.

So my new goal is to have reached 140 lb by my birthday.

I hope you all have success in your goals, too!

I’ll weigh myself later today, but I’m willing to bet that I’ve put a few pounds back on since last week, what with the holiday and all. I like food, what can I say?
It seems that I’m evening out, plateauing as they say. I’m going to make my December goal to lose 5 pounds. That should be tricky because Christmas and New Year’s, but I don’t think I have too many parties to attend beyond those.
By the end of the year I will weigh at MOST 145.

UPDATE: I only gained 1.5 lb this week, meaning my November total is 1.5 down, instead of nothing. So that’s nice.

Thanks for your support and best of luck to all of you through the end of the year.

Those last 10 pounds won’t leave!

It’s so cliche, but I am currently 150 lb and my ultimate goal is 140. But for the last couple months, they just won’t seem to leave!

Have I lost motivation? What’s going on?

Tips are welcome. Please and thank you.

So this month I only managed a measely three pound loss. Why is it those last 10 pounds are so hard to lose? There was a time when I could lose five pounds in one week. Whatever happened to that? Well three pounds is still better than no pounds. I didn’t lose much in inches either, but I guess it’s still better than the alternative.

I’ll just keep plugging away, I guess.

L

Things that could cause me stress:

I’ve lost a significant amount of weight. Fifty seven pounds, to be precise. I’m nearing my goal weight and that rules, but what if I gain it back when I’m said and done?

I bought a winter coat to replace the one from last year that no longer fits. So now I’ve got finances invested in keeping trim, because a good wool-cashmere blend double breasted peacoat doesn’t come cheap and I live in Illinois. We need to keep warm here.
It’s a size 8! That’s my ideal size! I’m still 10 lb away from my goal though so hopefully it will be too big for me by the time spring rolls around. (Or Christmas, for that matter.)

I’m supposed to meet my BF’s parents for the first time in about a week and a half. He assures me that they’re very chill people who will probably like me a lot, and I’ve never had problems meeting parents in the past. I’m adorable and very parent friendly on paper. But I have to meet parents and that’s scary.

Halloween is coming up and I love chocolate, peanut butter, smarties and starburst.
Christmas season is coming up and that means 6 weeks of cookies.

Those are the big things.

L

Sometimes, weight loss makes no sense.

I spent last week on vacation and instead of watching what I ate and exercising, I basically spent 5 days drinking, smoking, eating fried food and having sex with my boyfriend.

I stepped on the scale today expecting to see a gain of a few pounds, and what happens? I’m down 1.

Vacation is over, I’m back on the wagon. I hope to get 5 good workouts in this week and I’ll watch what I eat.

But sometimes, weight loss makes no sense at all.

I’m only 10 pounds away from my goal weight, as of today.

I hope you’re doing just as well.

On another note, my boobs have shrunk and I’m really starting to miss them. (Hahaha.)

LW

Whew! Over the plateau.

Actually it was more of a hump, really. I ended September in the same place I started but I had gained two pounds in the middle. The first measurement of October has me down two additional pounds beyond that.

I am 11 pounds away from my goal weight! Ahh! So stoked.

Also today I ran 5 miles, which is a new personal best.

I hope you’re all doing just as well.

As The Toasters would say: Don’t let the bastards grind you down.

Keep fighting the good fight, people.

The month was kind of a wash, weight wise, I actually gained two pounds and lost them leaving me exactly where I started. But if you look at the measurements between this month and last month I have SHRUNK! Where did it go? What happened? I’m not complaining, but really? Why is it that when you maintain, you shrink? I don’t get it.

Still only 13 pounds away from the ultimate goal.
